Design for access

What is the Biggest Challenge we are facing with technology today?

Innovation?

Innovation?

According to WIPO’s DII 2022, more than 30 thousand new technological advancements and innovations in all sectors have been developed.

No

Resources?

Resources?

We have more than enough natural and manufactured resources to easily mass-produce all the necessities of life and provide a high standard of living for all. The Law of Scarcity in the economy has been obsolete in the wake of modern technological advancement.

No

It all boils down to
Access!

It all boils down to
Access!

From high-speed internet to fresh drinking water, most modern and essential resources and technology is inaccessible to most of us due to unintelligent management of resources and controlled access.

But, all of them can be easily made available through intelligent design and automating manufacturing and inventory, resulting in dynamic equilibrium with the planet that could ultimately provide abundance for all people.

The future is here,
it's just not evenly Distributed

What Creates Value ?

To answer that, we have to think about
what makes anything valuable?

Scarcity

The value of anything is proportionate to its scarcity, and anything only has value as long as it is scarce.
...and whats the
most scarce thing in life?

Time

This 'Temporal Factors' is the only universal resource available to everyone that is non-renewable and constantly moving forward. Being a finite resource that cannot be created, stored, or replenished makes it the most scarce thing in life.
Time is the only universal resource available to everyone that is non-renewable and finite resource that cannot be created, stored, or replenished, this makes it the most scarce thing in life.
Examples
From smartphone and mobile apps like email, online shopping, and virtual meetings to GPS navigation and ATMs, all of the technologies that are valuable to us have only one thing in common, they all save human time.

So whatever your value proposition might be, it has to be time relative. So design that help save time has increased the marginal values.

Why do Products and Ideas Fails?

Research has shown that an overwhelming 90% of innovative ideas or products fall short due to a variety of reasons, including but not limited to:
Vague or overly ambitious vision.
Prioritizing what technology can do over what user needs.
Inaccurate problem framing.
Insufficient validation during the early stages.
Inadequate research conducted during the discovery phase.
A lack of user insights or wrong and too many customer segments.
Over-emphasizing features and pricing instead of prioritizing quality and experience.
Inability to create a new product category or subcategory, resulting in a loss of relevance.
Failure to cross the chasm during the middle stage of development.

Despite these numerous factors, all signs ultimately point to one underlying issue:
A lack of connection with the end user.

As it's the only tool that integrates user insights into the products core making UX outputs a business Assets and converts UX outcome into business outcome.
As it's the only tool that integrates user insights into the products core making UX outputs a business Assets and converts UX outcome into business outcome.

Design is the ONLY discovery tool available for products and services to cross the chasm and become the Category Exemplar - from an average, preferable one.
